How to Care for Your Laser-Engraved Products (Wood, Slate, Leather & More)

Laser-engraved products are built to last, but with the right care, they’ll look sharp and polished for years to come. Whether you’ve purchased a custom hat patch, slate coaster set, or an engraved wood board, here are some simple care tips for each type of product:

🪵 Wood Products (Cutting Boards, Signs, Ornaments)

  • Hand-wash only with warm water and mild soap.

  • Never soak in water or put in the dishwasher — it can warp or crack.

  • Dry immediately with a towel.

  • For cutting boards, apply food-safe mineral oil or board conditioner every few weeks to keep the wood from drying out.

🪨 Slate Products (Coasters, Trays, Signs)

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth or mild soap.

  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers that can scratch the surface.

  • If used for food or drinks, a light coat of mineral oil can refresh the slate’s natural color.

🧢 Hats with Leatherette or Acrylic Patches

  • Spot clean the fabric with a damp cloth — do not machine-wash.

  • For leatherette patches: wipe gently with a slightly damp microfiber cloth.

  • For acrylic patches: avoid harsh cleaners; just wipe gently to remove smudges.

  • Store in a cool, dry place to prevent fading.

🥤 Drinkware (Tumblers, Mugs, Bottles)

  • Hand-wash recommended to preserve engraving and coating.

  • Do not use steel wool or harsh cleaners.

  • Avoid soaking lids with rubber seals to keep them from wearing out.
